We’ve compiled a list of the best outdoor subreddits here for you. We had to stop at 99 on this first list but we will add more in the future. There are subs for hiking, camping, RVing, backpacking, travel and so much more! Get some friends and go outside!

  • /r/BackyardWildlife ← Those who just look out the back window and observe the wildlife they see.

  • /r/Adventuremobile ← 2 to 4 wheels make for a pretty epic journey now and again.
  • /r/Camping ← Allows car camping posts.
  • /r/GoRVing ← Take those expensive recreational vehicles out and enjoy Mother Nature!
  • /r/MotoCamping ← Motorcycle Camping, for those of you who are better at balancing than the rest of us.
  • /r/Overlanding ← Vehicle camping in remote places. Because where you’re going…you don’t need roads.
  • /r/TeardropTrailers ← Campers of the tear-shaped nature. (Not a very emotional subreddit surprisingly)
  • /r/TruckCampers ← 4WD makes this sub a pretty fantastic visit.
  • /r/VanLife ← If you prefer to be a step or two more comfortable than a rooftop tenter.
  • /r/Vandwellers ← Same as VanLife but they wanted to claim a better name. Touché.

Outdoors Activity Subreddits

  • /r/Adrenaline ← Mostly Videos of high-adrenaline sports that we could never replicate in our dreams.
  • /r/AnimalTracking ← Tracking of the animal kingdom, not recommended for tracking animals that are way bigger, faster and stronger than you.
  • /r/Canoeing ← Subreddit for those who like to float on water with man to water friction reducing vehicle.
  • /r/Caving ← Keep you and your friends in the dark by visiting this sub.
  • /r/Climbing ← Don’t Look Down. You’ve been warned.
  • /r/Hunting ← For food or for sport, it happens either way.
  • /r/Kayaking ← Kayaking is a fun activity, they agree.
  • /r/Outdoors ← General “Outdoors” subreddit with plenty of roof-free activity suggestions.
  • /r/ParkRangers ← Are you a park ranger? Want to be a park ranger? Want to learn their habits and techniques so that you can steal plenty of picnic baskets….?
  • /r/Shoestring ← Travelers on shoestring budgets….aka CHEAP (but respected).
  • /r/Slackline ← Core and Balance training, balancing on webbing. Also apparently 90% of the men doing this have no testicles anymore.
  • /r/Snowshoeing ← You’ll be surprised that this isn’t a sub with snow packed into various types of shoes. We were disappointed too.
  • /r/Survival ← Bear Grylls can’t hold a stick to this sub.
  • /r/TrailGuides ← Guides to trails. I mean, what did you expect?
  • /r/Whitewater ← Privileged water.
